Options include:
Dynamic wrinkles appear when expressing emotions and you will notice them when you smile, laugh, frown, cry. Dynamic wrinkles fade as quickly as they appear. Once the emotion passes you will no longer see them.
As we age, our collagen and elastin production slow down, these lines become more pronounced. Static wrinkles, however, remain on the face even after our facial muscles relax and tend to deepen with age. They can make someone in their 20s and 30s look older than their age.
Anti-wrinkle injections are a quick and effective way to ‘turn back the clock’ and boost your confidence levels. Cosmetic injectable treatments are extremely effective in treating early signs of ageing, fine lines and wrinkles, and it helps to improve shape and symmetry in the face.
Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are botulinum toxin brands available in NZ. They all have the same function: to relax facial muscles.
At Maxx Aesthetics we use Xeomin®.
Xeomin is injected into the muscle which blocks the nerve signal. Without a signal, the muscle is not able to contract thus prevents your facial muscles from creating wrinkles when you smile, squint or frown, giving you a more rejuvenated and youthful appearance.
Dermal fillers are substances injected into the skin to smooth wrinkles and make them less noticeable.
Lip fillers are one of the most popular types of dermal filler. They increase the volume of your lips.
Skin Boosters is an anti-ageing therapy that improves skin quality by replenishing and maintaining natural hydration levels by injecting hyaluronic acid(HA) directly into the dermis layer of the skin.
Skin hydrator treatments boost moisture in the skin for a plump, glowing appearance and improves the overall quality of the skin. Hydrators can reduce the appearance of acne scarring as well as fine lines, wrinkles and uneven skin texture.
Cosmetic injectables are non-invasive treatments that requires little to no recovery time.
The most common treatment areas include:
However Xeomin can also be used to improve a sad mouth, lift different parts of the eyebrow, for excessive sweating in the hands, feet and underarms and so much more.

Most people find that the pain from fillers is more intense than the pain from Xeomin injections. This is because Xeomin is injected into the muscle, while fillers are injected into the skin.
The Xeomin injection process is quick, and the needles are small and fine, there is minimal pain. It is described as slight pitching or scratching sensation. You can expect to experience minimal discomfort during the treatment and can get on with the rest of your day as normal.
Dermal fillers can cause mild discomfort, but they are rarely painful. A topical numbing solution will be applied to the skin before any injections are administered. After seeing the results – youthfully plump and supple skin – clients agree that the slight discomfort is worth it.
The cost varies for each person as treatments are uniquely designed to cater to your specific goals, needs and budget. It is best to book a time with Mikaela for a quick consultation to discuss costs and payment options. You can make a booking here.
During the first consultation, we’ll:
